SoundProof Windows Look Ahead to 2021

SoundProof Windows had a strong year in 2021, despite uncertainty from the COVID-19 pandemic. We had a strong sales year and experienced heavy traffic on our site as more and more people stay home and look into upgrading their windows.

Because of increased demand for home improvement, we want to encourage those looking to upgrade their windows without having to replace them entirely to check out our product offerings from SoundProof Windows.

Our soundproof windows have been used in high-rise apartments, hotels, historical homes and buildings along with busy city centers. With our latest update to our soundproofing process, renovators and owners no longer need to settle or live with disturbing outside noise.

Not only do our soundproof windows reduce energy costs, but adding the inner window provides an additional layer of insulation which will stop unwanted air infiltration through the window seals, all while putting a constant squeeze on the glass panels, preventing sound leaks and stopping noise from vibrating through the glass.

How to Measure Sound Pollution Using Sound Transmission Class?

Our industry’s unit of measurement for sound is what’s known as an STC rating. STC stands for Sound Transmission Class and it is a measurement of how much noise is stopped by objects such as windows, doors, walls and building materials.

STC ratings generally range from 18 to 38 for windows. The STC rating is the average amount of noise stopped at 18 different frequencies, measured in decibels. For single pane windows, the STC Rating is most likely between 26 and 28.

The STC Rating for our soundproof windows is 48-54 on average.
