your earplugs. The trick is airtight windows.
A single pane of glass does little to
muffle the racket, but double- or triple-paned
windows cuts noise levels in half. The best
windows for soundproofing have laminated
glass and vinyl
frames. But if you don't want the fuss and expense
of replacement windows, ask at your home center
about interior mount windows. Some, like those
